Quality Story
In Australia and New Zealand the dairy industry is regulated by the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand Authority (FSANZ). The State Dairy Food Authorities (SDFAs) implement the FSANZ standards by regularly auditing farms and facilities against those regulations.
All dairy farms and processors must have documented and approved food quality and safety programs. FSANZ issues licences after farms and processors prove they are capable and pass the required audits.
One important element of these Regulations is the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) based Quality Assurance system. This system ensures that all product quality and safety risks are scientifically reviewed and continually managed.
